Our Story
Kasey has always been intrigued by leatherwork and has had a passion for designing hand made works of art. His mother taught at a University with a leather workshop that he used to sneak in to when he was nine years old. He craved the opportunity to do leatherwork and the idea of creating.
Kasey was born in Olympia, Washington, but lived all over the United States and Mexico. His grandpa George supported his creativity and artistic passion. He sent him to jewelry school in Mexico at the young age of 11. Kasey was a natural at creating beautiful pieces of jewelry as a silversmith. His jewelry making began in Mexico and led him to opening his own business at 18 years old at the Pike Place Market. After 23 years of designing and producing jewelry, in 2020, he decided it was time for a change. He wanted to take his artistic ability and create products that are modern with a vintage flare. He felt the best way to do this was to design products with leather. Through his leatherwork he has combined this new desire with his love of the Pacific Northwest to bring you KSWB.
KSWB represents Kasey’s initials. He has a wife, Liberty Bracken, and an energetic five year old son who loves to always be in the shop with his dad. Kasey truly enjoys spending his time in the outdoors when he is not working in the shop. He dedicates every chance he gets to being out in the woods, mountains or fields. The outdoors inspire many of his designs and creations. We hope that our journals can be works of art that you can pass down for generations and that you enjoy them as much as we love making them.
