What type of leather are these made with?

• They are made with vegetable tanned, cowhide leather that are not chemically treated

• The best comparison is that it is the same leather that is used for baseball gloves

• They are not chrome tanned leather.

• Each piece of leather has its own unique characteristics. We start with a large cowhide and hand cut the pieces to ensure we use nearly every piece and minimize waste.

How are the designs put on the leather?

• All of the artwork was designed by Kasey Bracken and then laser engraved onto the leather

What size are the binders inside the journals?

• They are all equipped with standard sized binders so that they can be easily refilled and used with any type of stationary such as monthly and daily calendars, planners, dividers, address books, etc.

• EDCs are a 2 ring binder that fit 3 X 5 index cards

• Travelers are a 6 ring binder, size A6

• Luxes are a 6 ring binder, size A5

What type of paper comes with the journals?

• Journal orders come standard with lined paper, unless purchased at Pike Place Market.

• We have blank art paper and lined paper available for purchase

• The blank art paper is 180 gsm so it can be used for watercolor, sketching and other art mediums. Each packet comes with 50 sheets (100 pages).

• The lined paper is 100 gsm so it is thicker than your standard stationary. Each packet comes with 120 sheets (240 pages).

What size is the paper that is included with the journal?

• EDCs will fit standard 3 X 5 index cards (80mm x 123mm)

• Travelers are size A6 (105mm x 170mm)

• Luxes are size A5 (210mm x 148mm)

How is the leather dyed?

• We mix our alcohol based dyes with neatsfoot oil and airbrush each journal by hand

• Each combination we mix creates a unique color. We do our best to keep our colors in the same range of the color samples that are on our website. However, each journal is handmade.

Is the leather sealed with any protectant?

• Yes, each journal is airbrush finished with Resolene to protect the color and leather. It makes each piece water resistant.

Where can I buy refills of the paper?

• You can purchase paper straight from our website. We sell both lined and art paper in all three sizes.

• You can also purchase from Amazon or other stationary stores, but we recommend purchasing directly from us so you know exactly what you will receive.

Do you ship?

• Yes, we ship priority mail in the USA

• It takes 1-3 days to receive your order once shipped

How long do orders take to process?

• Each journal is made to order. Due to this, orders take one week to process and will ship the following Friday.

• It takes approximately two weeks to fulfill the order and for your journal to get to you.
